Door to door
This is very unusual to see a front gate so close to the front door in L.A. because here in L.A. we like our gates open to a winding driveway to our front door. God forbids if we have to -gulp!- walk to our gate!

Did you watch The West Wing? One of my favourite comments was in the penultimate episode, when CJ told her secretary she "often....errrr....sometimes.....err walked to work" but she was plannign to do much more when she left the office. To which Margaret, her secretary replied (knowing CJ was going off to live in LA) "Yeah, LA being the pedestian nirvana that it is"
I like the photo of the gate and front door. Was there no room to put it farther away?
