Yes, very artistic of the city fathers to have the power line in front of the namesake rock.
Actually, Abe, it is just a barren piece of rock (granted, it's a HUGE piece of rock) that looked like an eagle's head that gave the city the name. There was never any eagles near that rock.
BTW, we took this while parked on the side of the 134 freeway, so any natural habitat would not survive the noise from the freeway.

it's really nice how the city planers put the power poles up right in font of the cities name sake and stuffed up view
I wonder if eagles once roosted on the rock and that's how it was given the name. Nice photography. Even nicer without the power poles.
