Translucent leaves

We took this photo because we can help noticing how translucent the leaves on this tree looks with the sun shining through.

We are not sure if it was the leaves themselves that are translucent in nature, or because of the sun. You be the judge.

I think most leaves do this transparency thing when young in the spring. When old, they tend to get tough and are no longer that way. At least the trees in Ohio. California is a wee bit different in most respects, so allowing for that, they might be transparent there all year long. Anyway. It is a nice photograph.

I posted information about codes that might interest you.
